I completed two full weeks of Bikram Hot Yoga-- everyday for 14 days. I feel great, I'm happy and proud of myself. It's been almost seven years since I made a real commitment to my health and kept it for longer than a few days. I'm taking it one day at a time and trying to be present and get as much as I can out of my yoga classes.
I'm getting better in my postures (but I still have a lot of work to do), the heat in the studio doesn't bother me anymore, I'm losing weight, I'm sleeping more, no aches and pains, no headaches, NO HOT FLASHES, my skin is glowing, my mood is even, and I'm feeling better than I have in a very long time. This Thursday I went to my doctor and he said I looked great, my pressure was normal, my sugar was 113 and it was about an hour after I ate. Dr. Kapoor was amazed at my weight loss; he said that twice. He asked me what I was doing and I told him Bikram Yoga. He asked all of the details about the class, the room temperature, the way I feel before- during and after, the cost and how long I planned on practicing every day. I answered all of his questions and told him that I am in a 60 day self challenge and that I hope to make Bikram Yoga a part of my life for the rest of my life.
